Thrive Farms is a concept of farm and business management I have developed over my years as a student and professional.
You will find the trinity used throughout my website. I use this symbol to represent the three branches of my management philosophy: People, Business, and Environment. This is often referred to as the triple-bottom-line approach.
People: Without a dedicated workforce, our organizations are nothing. People bring value to operations. Too often, organizations fail to recognize and adequately reward their staff. If we take care of our people, they will take care of us.
Business: Profit generation allows us to take care of our people and grow our influence. Without profit, a business fails. By responsibly generating revenue, we can enrich the lives of others while taking care of ourselves and our families.
Environment: The environment is the world that allows us to operate. By taking care of this natural resource we ensure our continued success for generations to come.
These three things together allow us to Thrive in all aspects of our lives.
I believe in leading by doing. I take action and am always willing to roll up my sleeves to get the job done. I never ask or expect my colleagues to complete any task I am unwilling to do myself. Some key points of my leadership style are:
Lead by example
Think transformationally (how can we get better through continuous improvement?)
Have flexibility
Take responsibility for my actions and decisions
Open lines of communication
Teach my skills to others at every opportunity
Learn from others at every opportunity
Build personal connections with colleagues
Share appropriately in the joys and discomforts of our personal and professional lives
Empower colleagues to make responsible decisions
Use humor appropriately to lighten the day and make tasks more enjoyable
